RM of Riverside’s story
The Rural Municipality of Riverside No. 168 incorporated on January 1, 1913. It surrounds the town of Cabri and the village of Success, and the locality of Battrum lies within its boundaries. The RM office is in Pennant, and the northern edge of the municipality follows one of the arms of Lake Diefenbaker.
Norwegian pioneers settled in the area, and in 1919 they built St. John's Norwegian Lutheran Church, also known as St. John's Lutheran Church and Cemetery. It stands about 15 km south of Cabri and is the one historical building recorded in the RM.
On the southern shore of Lake Diefenbaker, Cabri Regional Park was created in 1976. Today it offers a campground, beach access, a marina, disc golf, a boat launch, a picnic area and hiking trails.
